Who needs a Maxon OD808? You do!
For many years I always ignored distortion pedals...based on their being too noisy, bad tone or feedback issues. My son recommended the Maxon OD808 to me-so I tried it. Amazingly the OD808 sounds perfect through a clean Vox AC-15 amp which now gives me a two-channel format to work with. The Maxon’s creamy distortion is great for blues and Classic-rock sounds. The pedal also responds well to backed off volumes and dynamic playing levels. The OD808 also sounds sweet through an old Peavey Nashville 400 with it’s unforgiving cleans. (With no unnecessary noise, buzz or feedback.) It’s only taken me 40 years (or so) to appreciate this pedal...it was worth the wait! This pedal is a “Must Have”!
I am an artist with Godlyke Inc. and have to say I haven’t used any products that I like more than Maxon. This exact pedal I have used for a very very long time opening for some of the greatest musicians in music history. I typically use two of them (stacking) and has been my tone for as long as I can remember. The tone, quality, consistent and reliability is why I use Maxon and have made them my number one go to pedal. If you ever seen green in my board you can bet it’s Maxon. You can beat the heck out of these pedals and they are just like the day you took them out of the box. Whether it’s recording, playing love, or practicing they are completely perfect for whatever you are doing. I haven’t met a company yet that makes me feel more like family than Godlyke Inc and how much they provide and do for the artists is just a blessing. Do yourself a favor and try the 808. Actually sit down and play with it and see how perfect of a pedal this really is. You can do anything with all of these pedals. From blues, rock, jazz, country or whatever you play you won’t Ben disappointed. These pedals are my life and have become an obsession due to the passion I have for the tone of Maxon. Stop fiddling around with other pedals because on my board other pedals have come and to but Maxon’s haven’t moved. This pedal is the Ibanez tube screamer on steroids. The more, lows and highs are perfect. Nothing can compare. It blows all others out of the water. Thank you guys for all you do for me!
