Let customers speak for us
from 149 reviewsI knew it would be good, but it blew me away! . What an awesome pedal. Easily has become my favorite overdrive. The attention to detail is spectacular as well. Beautiful
I have chased the SD-9 tone for several months. Picked up a stock SD-9, enjoyed it, had Analogman mod it, liked it even more, but the SH-9 takes the circuit to a new level. The controls are intuitive, the feel is far more forgiving than the original, but the beautiful dynamic range remains.
I owned the first Reezafratzitz pedal back in 06" I believe and played it for many years until it fizzled out. I gigged it a ton and practiced on it religiously so I got my money's worth. I then started using big muffs, Rat pedals and of course the boss ds-1. I like them all really. Still use them. The distortion pedals I just mentioned are limited on what you can dial up from smooth to gritty compared to the ReezaFratzitz! Just like the first pedal the range of tones is unreal. I no longer have play around with other distortion pedals or be on the hunt for the sound I'm seeking cause I got the full package & most versatile distortion pedal in the one & only ReetzaFRATzitz!! In my strong opinion this is by far the best distortion pedal ever made!
There’s a good chance that if you love the Maxon SD-9….that you’ll love the TWA SH9 even more.
Thank you Scott, Mr. Tamura, Kevin and everyone at TWA and Godlyke! ….but essentially Scott! 🍺🕺🤘🏻🎸👊🏻🙏
...but once I read about it here, it was a "must buy." After sorting out CTL and EXP (I had them reversed in my mind ... then I read the manual ...) this is amazing. I started out with unexpected results (the pedal behaves in a totally logical fashion, but I did not understand LFO as well as I thought I did). With surprises now behind me, this is a pedal that I expect to use (mostly with random) whenever my constantly changing pedalboard has the option of an expression pedal. If the pedal that you're using it with has a ramp setting (e.g. rotary speaker), you will need to consider that - together with considering whether the Side Step is set to cyclical or random.
The power supply works as advertised. I'm impressed with how quiet it is. The leading power supply in this category by another company is notoriously hummy. Not this one. Works great.
This pedal quickly became a standard part of my drive chain. Its sounds so good I keep it apart and run it into my favorite amp separately. I only accentuates the tones and provides a great character in standard drive, as well as a meaty unique octave drive when I need the extra zing. So happy to have this on board. I have not played anything like it and I wont need to go looking anymore.
Both ! The TWA has plenty of tricks up it's sleeve, and it's a treat to play with. The amount of gain on tap is insane. The selenium diodes are capable of serious distortion that can go from heavy overdrive, to full on distortion and into powerful fuzz . Once the trick channel is engaged , the octave fuzz kicks in and the unit summons the spirits from the great beyond. The clean blend is my favorite feature, as it imparts definition and clarity. Super versatile. Highly recommended. Don't sit in a pumpkin patch awaiting the Great Pumpkin to arrive...simply grab one of these babies for a serious treat !
The reason i got this coz i'm constantly rearranging 3 pedal boards (yes its complicated) i use this for my wireless system that has a quick release receiver under my boards. The build and the way this was soldered is very clean and SOLID.
I owned an old orange and blue Super Fuzz as a teen in the 70's and, like an idiot, sold it or traded it for god knows what. I was a beginner at the time and really couldn't come to grips with it even though I loved the sound. Well, the Wahxidizer nails the two main sounds of the original and between the parametric eq and envelope follower, it gets tons of cool tones that the original never had. That original gnarly chaotic tone that only plays nicely with 4ths and 5ths and barely with major 3rds is still there.
So, I'm very happy with my purchase. Thanx guys!!!!
As a preface: nobody pays me to do reviews or sends me pedals; I purchase them all myself because I love collecting them.
The Krytical Mass has an unbelievably pleasant sound that somehow manages to be aggressive and snarling in the lower registers of the guitar, yet smooth and almost horn-like when playing single notes higher on the neck. Solo sounds ring through with a synthesizer-esque smoothness and an absolutely glorious midrange that is both authoritative and elegant. This becomes far more apparent when cascading the fuzz into an amp’s dirty channel (which is how I use almost all of my fuzzes); when run directly into the clean channel, the KM still sounds great, but slamming a distorted amp results in a tone with an amazingly “squishy” feel under the fingers and a heavy, menacing tonality that would be impossible to ignore in a mix. I have always shied away from upper-octave fuzzes, as they usually provide a sound that I am not much a fan of, but in the case of the KM, the upper octave seems perfectly dialed in; it is not abrasive or excessive, and instead lends a subtle grind to chords and a phantom screech to sustained notes. Perhaps the fact that the unit pays tribute to a circuit originally conceived for bass guitar explains the subtle and pleasing “Octavia” sound that is far from overbearing.
In summary: do yourself a favor and check this thing out. Heavy metal and licks reminiscent of “Cliffs of Dover” can both be achieved without changing a knob. Wow.
First class craftsmanship. Sound, volume, and tone is absolutely amazing! Thanks again! 🙏
Great pedal, great Customer Service! This is my 3rd Fortin TS-9, maybe I'll wise up and keep this one!
